practice - 8

The tip that worked the best for me was to feel not just show what your acting. Also recording myself and watching it to critic it really helped too. Looking in the mirror also really helps if you just ant to do a quick little practice. I trick I use for memorizing my lines is to write down the first letter of each word and use those to help me study.

Character - 7

I think that the character Cassandra is more like me. I like her because she is funny, energetic, and he seems so innocent. The second I watched Emily act as her, I knew that's who I wanted as my monologue. Something that is similar between me and my character is that we both have been tricked by someone we thought was going to help us. Then you get mad for a second and then try to play it cool. I don't know anyone like this character. I have, like I said, been tricked by someone and tried to gt them back with words just like Cassandra did so I think that would put me at some experience. The back story of Cassandra was that she was living a happy life (she wore robes) in Troy until she got envious of her older sister, Jennifer, so she prayed and prayed to Apollo asking for something that she could use to be better then her sister until one day when she was walking around, she was mysteriously invisible. She saw the god Apollo coming up to her and making her a deal. He said that he would give her the power to see into the future under a few conditions. She grabbed the scroll of conditions and said deal without giving the list a second glance. Then she later noticed that she had forgotten that she was invisible. That was the fine-print of the conditions. She was only 17 and invisible! And finally for breakfast she would have a glass of milk and a bowl of fruit.

Monologues - 6

I picked "Cassandra" and "First Words".

First Words -
I like the way this represents a person and the way it shows different emotions in a few, meaningful words. The main character in the monologue is a girl named Tina.
She is sad, and envious, she is also kind of proud.
I think she lives in Tennessee (because of her accent) in 2007.
Tina was left alone as a kid and now is sad that she didn't get parents to share memories and grow up with
Tina was in an orphanage and now she has grown up. She had a really hard childhood.

Cassandra
I liked the way I saw someone else do it and it made me smile so I thought I would do it
The main character is a girl named Cassandra who got powers from the god Apollo
She is enraged at Apollo and fearful for the fall of Troy
She is lives in Greece
Cassandra was a normal girl until she got powers from Apollo - then she gets tricked
She is annoyed at Apollo for tricking her

Those are my monologues!

Dramatic Monologues - 5

I felt that the monologue Nervous was really good. She was very convincing and it felt as if she was talking to me right through the screen. Her facial expressions were true and her voice was not flat. I felt like she was really some girl who was worried about her father and who cared for him. Good job!

comedy monologues - 4

My favorite comedy was Cassandra by Emily. She added her own actions and tone to the script. It was awesome! I liked her facial expressions and her props. I feel like she really replicated exactly what I had imagined the character to be. It was really good and I want to watch some more of her monologues!!! Good job Emily.

Top 7 favorite actors - 3

I don't know several actors that were listed so I decided to do some research. I don't know to many actors/actresses so I am going to do top 7. One of the actors that I knew was Robin Williams. I watched Mork and Mindy with Robin Williams and I also watched a cartoon with his voice - something about robots. He was very very funny and he made me smile every time I watched him. Lately I have been watching a lot of CW network lately and a lot of my favorite actors are there now. This is my list of actors and what shows/movies they are in.

1) Grant Gustin - The Flash, Glee - Very convincing actor w/ wide range of emotion
2) Emily - Bett Rickards - Arrow, The Flash - Funny, so convincing
3) Stephen Amell - Arrow , The Flash - Main Character .... i don't know??
4) Robin Williams - Mork and Mindy - Hilarious and experienced
5) Debbie Ryan - Jessie, Radio Rebel - good dramatic / comedy actor and intriguing
6) Bill Murry - Scrooged, Ghost Busters - Represents himself as the character
7) Bob Hope - Road to Hong Kong - hilarious and convincing

The Theater - 2

I went to go see the play Scrooge. I don't remember who played Ebenezer but he was very good. He wasn't acting, he WAS Scrooge. He definitely became his character. He was very loud and clear, people 7 rows back could see his actions and hear what he was saying. The things that made him better than the other actors was probably because he is the main character, but I think it is because he really resembled the character like the book had him. It also takes a good, well trained actor to go from grumpy and sad to happy and kind.
